Combine diagrams, key terms, and quick examples so science notes stay useful for homework and exams.

Science lessons move quickly between definitions, processes, and calculations. Notes that only copy the board word-for-word are hard to revise later. Better notes capture meaning and structure.

A simple page layout

  • Left margin: key terms and formulas.
  • Main column: explanations in short sentences.
  • Bottom or side: one example or diagram sketched quickly.

After class

Spend ten minutes rewriting messy diagrams and adding a question you still cannot answer. Bring that question to the next lesson. Teachers can correct misunderstandings before the next topic builds on them.

For laboratory classes, record aim, apparatus, observation, and conclusion on separate lines. Clear lab notes help with both practical exams and theory questions that refer to experiments.
