Why schools need a report card generator

The report card is the document parents judge your school by. It needs to look professional, carry your school's identity and, above all, be correct. Typing report cards in Word or Excel for every student is slow and invites mistakes: a score copied into the wrong row, a position that does not match the broadsheet, a name misspelt on the final print.

A report card generator takes the data that already exists (scores, grades, positions, attendance and comments) and places it into your template for every student. The admin office reviews and prints; it no longer types.

Design the report card your school wants

Schools in Nigeria use many report card formats, and many states have their own expectations for what appears on them. EduMatrix includes a template designer where you choose what appears and where. You can place your school logo and address in the header, add the student's photo, set out the subject score table with its CA and exam columns, and include sections for conduct, cognitive and psychomotor ratings, attendance and the next term's resumption date.

Headers and footers can hold logos and signatures, and merge tags insert details such as the student's name, class, term and session wherever you need them.

You can preview a single student's report card, print it, or generate an entire class as one PDF file for bulk printing. The same report card can be published to the parent portal, so parents who live far from the school or travel often can see it on their phones.

Schools that sell result-checker PINs can use them to control who can view results online, while still printing paper copies for the end-of-term collection.

Fewer complaints after results are out

Most report card complaints come from arithmetic or copying errors. When totals, grades and positions are computed from the scores and printed straight from the system, those errors disappear. If a teacher corrects a score before publication, the regenerated report card reflects it immediately.
